Eventful Saturday

I experienced my first flat tire yesterday! I was driving down to Tucson and right before I hit the freeway entrance I heard a big "POP" sound and thought I just ran over something. I proceeded to take the on ramp to enter the freeway, shortly realizing my car sounded funny and it wasn't accelerating. I saw the engine light on and had to keep driving for about half a mile because it was a construction zone and I couldn't pull over. I pulled over on the side of the freeway as soon as I could and got out of my car to see:

 

Just my luck. I called road side assistance and had to sit on the side of the freeway for a while. Just when I thought it couldn't get any worse, it started to rain. So finally, after getting the tire changed and buying a new tire...

I headed off to Tucson again (second attempt). Aside from that mishap in the morning, the rest of the day panned out perfectly.  I had a really fun time hanging out with my classmate's parents! They are so nice and such fun people! For the first time in 7 weeks, I really felt like I got to see Arizona AND enjoy it WITH someone!! My classmate's mom happens to be a photographer and she took such nice photos of me! It was so windy and my hair was going crazy but she she did a great job! Here's a preview:
